Originally from Peru and with an international background, Dr. Ana Martinez graduated at the top of her class from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru in 1997. She pursued a two year hospital-based residency in dentistry, followed by an internship at Universitaet Witten/Herdecke, in Germany.

She completed a residency in General Dentistry at the University of Connecticut Health Center, and two year fellowship with emphasis on surgical implant placement and provision of prosthetic rehabilitation and the treatment and management of patients with severe medical, mental and physical impairments. During her academic career she has emphasized the importance of research and has been published in dental journals.
